Prey are Animals that are being hunted.
Some can be both.
A wolf can eat a snowshoe hare. And a bison can eat a wolf. So a wolf can be a predator and prey.
Predators and prey are both related in a way. And it is usually represented in a line graph. This way we can tell representation over a certain period of time of how the population of each animal increases and decreases. When an animals population decreases;The wolf for example;When their population starts to decrease, the snowshoe hare and the bison population both go down.... Connected to the wolves. This is because there isn't enough wolf for the bison and there are so many snowshoe hare, that they start to die because that whatever they eat is not a high enough supply. And so on...
